Jewelry can be made of virtually any material, from silver to gold, diamonds to copper, glass, natural stones and natural wood. Choosing the right jewelry to suit a particular style depends on the occasion, the attire, the size and shape of the jewelry, and many other factors. The objective, of course, is that it compliment whatever clothing the individual is wearing at the time, and to be the wearer's fashion signature.

An important point in wearing jewelry is to figure out what area of the body one would like to emphasize. For example, a woman who wears dangling earrings is most likely to draw attention to her shoulders. Therefore, this style of earring compliments a strapless blouse or dress. A large woman who wears very small earrings can look heavy in the neck area. Therefore, she should assess her style and compensate accordingly. Small earrings are not out of the question, so long as she wears a scarf at the neck or a necklace on the chunky side. There are some exquisite koa wood necklaces that would be perfect for this look.

The man who wears a ring that has multiple diamonds in it while dressed in casual clothing can look out of place. Casual attire calls for casual jewelry. However, casual jewelry need not be nondescript. Some of the elegantly designed koa wood pieces can be quite striking, while maintaining sleek, simple lines. Rings made of koa wood can be quite elegant in their simplicity.

Simple jewelry usually works for the person who is interested in wearing attire that can transition well from daywear to evening. A woman can achieve a classy and elegant style by wearing simple silver hoop earrings and perhaps a nice bracelet. A chic accompaniment and nice contrast to the silver would be some of the new koa wood pieces, such as one of the wooden beaded bracelets or simple bangle styles. A bride in her bridle gown can be instantly identified as a bride. Likewise, the young man who is rugged and athletic can be identified this way by the manner in which he dresses, as well.

Some tips to remember when choosing jewelry to suit a particular style:

•    Always have a deliberate focal point for the jewelry to emphasize.
•    Refrain from wearing too much jewelry at once.
•    Break up the look of shiny metal jewelry with contrasting koa wood pieces.
•    Coordinate jewelry with the fabric textures and patterns.
•    Thin transparent fabrics look better with thin, simple jewelry
•    Nubby fabrics, such as heavily knit sweaters look better with chunky jewelry

The most important point is to be original. Hang a brooch on a hat. Put a ring on a chain around the neck. Wrap a necklace around the wrist three times to make a bracelet. Break tradition and develop a signature style that can be synonymous with the individuals style and personality.

What inspires you?
I would have to say that my love of fashion and beauty inspires me to create illustrations of fabulous people. I always strive to capture their spirit with an impressionistic, fashion twist.

What inspires you to illustrate every day?
I create illustrations of people and weddings, both from photography references and, what I am most known for, illustrating LIVE at a wedding or event. Capturing the moments much like a court room artist. But with a fashion twist.

Tell us about your background
A graduate of The Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC, in fashion design, and a passion for illustrating people. My goal, as with all my work, is to make my subjects even more fabulous. Illustrating LIVE and quickly, I create impressionistic illustrations with a fashion twist. I create illustrations that will make every subject "look good on paper"-forever!
When I illustrate LIVE at weddings, I will create 10-12 illustrations within 3 hours, of key moments and guests. The illustrations are given to the bride before I depart, having "story-boarded" the event. The bride has the original art, ready to be framed, to commemorate her special day.

How do you feel about being an Entreprenuer?
"Do something you love, and you'll never work another day in your life!"

How do you promote your Custom Illustration Service?
My custom illustration service relies heavily on referrals. Potential clients need to SEE samples of my work. Facebook is ideal for helping to build my base with a steady network of "Like's" and "Friends", being able to SEE my illustrations instantly, and then "Share" with others, etc.
I use Facebook to post my recent work, where I am illustrating LIVE next, all so friends can visit events where they can see my illustration in action. Friends love when I create a fashion sketch of them and then post it. I think everyone feels a little famous when they are illustrated to look like a fabulous fashion model.
In addition to individual commissions and illustrating live at weddings, I attend many high-profile charitable events in the Chicago area. I help to raise funds by illustrating patrons LIVE at the event and offering them for sale. Using Facebook helps keep me connected with many groups, organizations,and charities. It offers me great visibility for fund-raising opportunities.

What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenuers?
My advice is to know your brand and who you want to see purchasing your product or service. Target that group heavily and often, daily if possible, using social networking, like Twitter. Get your product out and in front to as many of these target customers and clients as possible. Always give your prospect a reason to look at your product or service and always offer something of value when you post something.
Believe in yourself and your product-do not go off your path.

This morning, while taxiing out of rainy, grey, and miserable Chicago, I am reminded of why I am high-tailing it to Cabo San Lucas. I will finally be able to wear all the spring fashions I have recently acquired, but (due to the inclement weather) have not been able to wear! “HA”, I say to Mother Nature. “If weather were an outfit, yours would be tres, tres out of season!” But, I digress…. What this sunshine-impaired month has really left us with is one burning question: just what ARE the latest clothing trends for this spring–to-summer season? As expected, I just happen to know all the up-to-date answers…..

1. Maxi-dress/maxi-skirt - May be worn with flats, platforms or strappy sandals. Will easily cover any imperfections on the legs (i.e., varicose veins, pale skin, unshaven legs, etc.), while also keeping them warmer on a cool spring evening.

Tip: If you are petite, (less than 5’4”), best to wear this length with a platform.

2. Capris, bermudas, or short-shorts; all lengths are acceptable this season. Simply wear what length best flatters your legs. An added bonus is that we can custom-cut and roll our straight jeans from last winter to get further wear. I also feel strongly about rocking the color white on the bottom this season—mucho chic!

Tip: Don’t wear your pant at a mid-calf length. Doing so will make your calf appear larger than it actually is.

3. Scarves- tie a silk scarf around your neck and instantly add a pop of color and an unexpected touch of Grace Kelly glam. Veer off the beaten path and try tying one to your handbag or braid one into your hair.

Tip: Tie loosely, like you threw it on, so as not to look dated, i.e. Joanie from Happy Days.

4. Blazer and striped tee - Great way to transition into the season. Wear with any bottom - long or short. Ditch the tee and wear with a maxi tank dress too!

Tip: Wear a bit more fitted and less boxy than last season’s boyfriend jacket.

5. Bracelets, bracelets, bracelets - The only way to accessorize a bare arm! Have fun! Mix and match- even pull out the ones you’ve had since 1975. The more the better!

Tip: Choose one common element throughout when mixing.

6. Platforms/flatforms- This season there’s footwear for Fashionistas of every age. Platforms are not only a great way to add a touch of bold color to your pedicured feet, but can also add a couple of inches of height on those of us who feel, shall we say, vertically challenged. This has saved me $$ I would have spent hemming (but can now spend in Cabo, si?) J

Tip: Corked bottoms absorb shock adding the comfort factor.

7. White vs. neutrals - Why choose?! For example, wear all white and throw in a brown handbag, gladiators, and layer on the bracelets. Add some drapey pieces to your neutrals for a boho-chic look. Or, try mixing your neutrals with some bold brights for dramatic splash of color.

Tip: To maximize the neutral look, try a rolled-up raw silk cargo pant, adding a snake skin strappy heel.

MEN- It’s time for you to change it up too! Here are a few easy updates (your significant other will be happy, trust me)…

1. Colored khakis- Yes, it’s true, they HAVE finally arrived in the US! For my fashion forward followers, dive in! Wear shades of soft red or royal blue. For those of you who prefer to splash around in the shallow end, stick to a safe light grey.

Tip: If traveling to Europe this year, wear colors, you’ll be right on trend!

2. Jacket with jeans- Please do this!!! Need I say more?! This will take you from the daytime lunch date that unexpectedly lingers into the night.

Tip: Lose the over-sized tee and/or button down. Pair a jacket with a shirt that actually fits! Dark jeans are still preferable.

3. A Fabulous trench coat- Enter the room looking like you are ready to seal any deal (Mont Blanc pen optional). You can sport this with almost anything, just no sports jerseys or wife beaters.

Tip: Try to break the habit of only buying outerwear in neutrals. You can now mix black, brown, grey, navy and khaki. Have fun with your colorful trench! Look smart.

I may not be able to wear everything I packed, but rest assured, I am armed with whites, neutrals, brights, platforms, a scarf on my tote bag, and a bikini for each day of my vacation! Oh, and did I mention my favorite accessories….my best girlfriends at my side to create fabulous memories (and share margaritas)!!

Tell us about your participation in the Florida pageants?
Presently I am the reigning Mrs. Florida American Renaissance. I am part of a pageant system that celebrates women enabling us to make a lasting difference in our communities through community service on a local, regional and national level. I intend to pay it forward through extensive community service and public speaking engagements focusing on encouraging women in the work place and inspiring young girls to a path to future success.

What advice do you have for aspiring Entrepreneurs?
You either have it or you do not. It takes alot of discipline to stay focused and do what you need to do in your chosen business. Choose something you love and you know you are good at. You are in charge of you destiny.

April is Parkinson's Awareness Month
We have chosen to highlight the mission of Focus on a Cure

Focus on a Cure Foundation was founded and established by Ann & Ken Glowienke in early 2007 with the hopes of raising awareness, increasing education, providing support to patients and family members who live with Parkinson's disease. One of the goals of the foundation is to raise funds through various activities to support the mission as well as to provide funding to critical research being conducted to find a cure or more effective treatments for Parkinson's disease.

On November 12, 2004 following more than year of enduring various medications Ken was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson's disease. Although the average age of diagnosed onset for Parkinson's disease is in the early 60s, approximately 10% of the 1.5 million people with the disease are thought to be below the age of 40; Ken was 37 when his symptoms first appeared.

Shortly following the official diagnosis Ann took on the mission of gathering information on how this unwelcome intruder was going to impact their lives. Ken had just recently finished his bachelor's degree and was beginning a new job and they also were moving into their first house at the end of the year. During her research Ann came across The Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research web site. Michael had revealed in 1998 he was living with YOPD since 1991. The foundation that bears his name was founded in 2000 and was making great strides in bringing the needs of the Parkinson's community to the world stage. In early 2005 during her research Ann noticed a small link on the Fox Foundations web site looking for people to join in a new venture they were to launch in late 2005 called Team Fox for Parkinson's Research. This was to be and is today the grassroots community based fundraising arm of the Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research. Team Fox members collectively contributed to date 3.5 million dollars for research related to Parkinson's disease.

Ann signed up for this new venture as "Team Glowienke" thinking this would be a great way to get involved in fighting this unwelcome intruder and possibly a way for Ken to feel more in control of his future as it related to Parkinson's disease. Unbeknownst to Ken, Ann began organizing the first annual "Team Glowienke" walk for Parkinson's to benefit Team Fox. In early 2006 Ann finally let Ken in on her plans at which he was amazed on what she had accomplished but not surprised by the unconditional support and love in which it was done with.

On May 20, 2006 forty friends and family gathered at a small park in Carol Stream, IL and raised $3,600 for Team Fox.
On May 19, 2007 in that same small park about 90-100 friends and family gathered for the second annual walk and raised just over $8,000.
It was at this point Ken and Ann realized they had raised interest in what they were doing and were inspired by the response of family, friends and people they had never met. It was at that moment the idea of beginning their own non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity so they could increase and enhance the excitement and involvement Ann had begun at that small park with Forty people.

In September 2007 the Focus on a Cure Foundation for Parkinson's was officially established and plans began for the 2008 annual event.
On Sunday May 18, 2008 Focus on a Cure held the first annual Picnic in the PARKinson's at the Morton Arboretum in Lisle, IL and welcomed over 360 people from five different states and Canada. Hosted by local US 99 on air radio personality Drew Walker the event raised over $20,000 for Parkinson's!

On Sunday May 17, 2009 The Fourth Annual Picnic in the PARKinson's event was held and was once again a success by being measured against the attendance and funds raised at the 2008 event. We continue to increase awareness and gain support in the Parkinson's community giving us the ability to provide support to those research and education organizations who are in need and working towar a cure.

Focus on a Cure still supports Team Fox but now has the ability to accomplish even more for the Parkinson's community in addition to supporting Team Fox. Focus on a Cure now looks to the future and how they will take their mission to inspire community involvement and raise awareness for Parkinson's disease that will fund research to ultimately find a cure beyond the borders of their wildest dreams in hope of finding a cure a quickly as possible. We ask that you join Focus on a Cure Foundation for Parkinson’s in spreading awareness for People living with Parkinson's and help raise the funds needed to reach this attainable goal of a cure in our lifetime.

As you consider being a part of this new patient led movement remember no matter how big or how many people join Focus on a Cure in their mission, at the heart of all of it still remains the unconditional love of a woman who just simply wanted to get involved in honor of and to support her husband who at the age of 43 is still living with Parkinson's. They strongly believe they will see the day when their efforts hopefully in some small way contributed to a cure for this unwelcome intruder we know as Parkinson's.

About the Founders

Rachel Coleman is a Tampa native that is happy to call this dynamic city her home. She moved away for college in Tallahassee and shortly after gradation was eager to get back to her family and Tampa, to start her life.
She recently was able to transition her career into the non-profit world and loves waking up every day, looking forward to going to work, to make a difference. Rachel is also a member of the Junior League of Tampa, Biz-E-Chicks, an association of women entrepreneurs, and Emerge Tampa Bay. She has a passion for spending time with her family and friends, traveling the world, FSU football, wine tasting, planning vacations, trying new restaurants, hosting dinner parties, and cuddling with her dog, Scooby Doo. She’s busy planning her October 2011 wedding and can’t wait to marry her fiancé and looks forward to becoming a step mom to his 6 year old son. Jessica Grimsley was born in Winter Springs, Florida and spent most of her childhood there and in Daytona Beach, Florida. She attended The Masters Academy for high school and moved to Tallahassee to attend Florida State University, but suffered an athletic injury that caused her to transfer to Tallahassee Community College (TCC). Jessica obtained her Associate of Science degree from TCC and relocated to Daytona Beach to attend Daytona Beach Community College for her nursing degree. Upon graduation, Jessica relocated to Tampa and has been happy here ever since. Jessica is an active member of the Junior League of Tampa. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her new husband, Patrick and dog, Stella. She also likes to spend time with friends and family, going to sporting events, and outdoor events. Recently she has enjoyed decorating her new house and planning to start a family. Jessica also enjoys traveling, especially to visit her father in the Bahamas.

About High Hopes in High Heels

We were inspired to start High Hopes in High Heels after we participated in the 2009 Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk for Susan G. Komen and were a part of a few incredible organizations. The 3-Day required us to raise funds and awareness for a cause in order to be able to participate. We enjoyed organizing the fundraisers, but realized that there are several worth causes that should be recognized. We also wanted to organize a way for professional women to get together, network, and make a difference together within our Tampa Bay community…thus High Hopes in High Heels was born!

I think for both of us, the most rewarding experience thus far with High Hopes in High Heels is the people we have meet along the way. Our members are so inspirational and dedicated…it’s quite refreshing. We have been blessed to make some incredible, genuine friendships along the way and that’s what it’s all about at the end of the day. The representatives from the various non-profits we have partnered with are doing phenomenal things and we are honored to work with them. We are also humbled by the generosity and support of so many people who want to see our organization succeed…it’s truly heartwarming.

As a professional makeup artist and licensed skin care specialist, the first question I usually ask a new client is, "When did you clean out your makeup bag last?"
Did you know that cleaning out your cosmetic bag can save you time and money? By knowing what you have, and making a list of what you need to replace, you won't waste your money buying things you already have or products that won't work for you.
Follow these 7 simple steps to help you clean out your cosmetic case and keep your makeup routine cost and time effective:

Step 1: Inspect
Pull everything out of your bag and make a thorough inspection. Toss out anything you haven't used in a year, looks or smells funny, or has changed consistency.

Step 2: Separate
Separate the basics you use every day from the special items you use only occasionally. Those items you use frequently earn a place back in your makeup bag. Those items you don't use on a daily basis, like glitter eye shadow, should be put in a separate location. This will help you cut down on clutter and speed up your beauty routine.

Step 3: Start With The Basics
Be sure you have all the basics which should include: concealer, foundation or tinted moisturizer, powder, blush, eye shadow (at least two shades), eyeliner, mascara, lip liner, and lipstick or gloss. If you are missing any of these, put them on your shopping list.

Step 4: Check Formulas & Colors
Make sure your basics are all working for you as far as formulas and colors. In the summer months, many women switch to a foundation of lighter consistency due to the heat and humidity. And with increased sun exposure, most of us need to use a darker shade. Your "off season" colors, if less than 6 months old, should be stored in a separate location until you need them again. If they are more than 6 months old, toss them out and buy new next season.

Step 5: Clean
Give everything a good cleaning. Wipe the outside of containers as well as the inside of lids with a makeup removal towelette or moist washcloth. This will help keep your makeup bag clean and let you easily see what you have inside. Wash and sanitize sponges and brushes and let them air dry. Toss out old sponges that are torn or permanently discolored and replace brushes when they start losing hairs.

Step 6: Organize
Separate your brushes and disposables. By placing brushes in a separate bag inside your makeup case you will help preserve their shape and prevent them from becoming unnecessarily soiled. Use zip lock bags to store disposables like q-tips and tissues. This way they will be readily accessible and stay clean and tidy until you need them.

Step 7: Shop
Take your shopping list with you to your favorite cosmetic counter and get an expert's opinion on the products that are right for your coloring and skin type. They can tell you about important ingredients, advise you on the latest color trends, and tell you how a product will perform. You can purchase the products that they recommend and be confident you will achieve the best results, or you can take their advice and head to your local discount retailer to find similar colors and formulas.

Bailey's Story
Around this time last year, I was diagnosed with a terrible disease that, sadly, kills over 480,000 Americans each year: anorexia nervosa.
While all of the other teenagers my age were enjoying those unforgettable teenage years, I was struggling to survive.

I did not choose to have an eating disorder; my eating disorder chose me.
During my junior year of high school, I was forced to fight for my life and by no means was it easy. My eating disorder controlled me. My eating disorder was what determined what I could eat. My eating disorder was what told me that I was not beautiful and that no one loved me. My eating disorder was the reason I wanted to go to bed and never wake up. It made me think I was worthless. It robbed me of my self-confidence, joyful personality, social life, and passion for ballet. I was on death’s door; I was severely underweight and as a result my hair was falling out, my foot was paralyzed, my nails were blue from lack of circulation, and my heart was orthostatic. On top of all that, I had a fatally low heart rate and blood pressure; my heart could have stopped beating at any moment. And they thought it was going to. But there was just one problem: I was not ready to give up my life!

As soon as I made up my mind that I was going to regain control of my life and recover from my eating disorder, nothing could stop me.
I won my battle against my eating disorder, now it is time for me to help others fight theirs. No human being should ever have to endure the pain and suffering that my family and I had to face, and I have now devoted my life to helping those who are suffering. Children as young as six years old are being diagnosed with anorexia! I am worried if we don’t start talking about this disease we will have a generation of children with eating disorders.

So I made up my mind that I was going to start using my voice to raise awareness and hopefully prevent others from traveling down this path.
I had to do something to end the silence!

I started using my voice at the University of Florida last February during Eating Disorder Awareness week. This was the first time I publicly spoke about my battle with anorexia. That following March I lobbied in Tallahassee, FL for mental health parity for eating disorders. This past September I lobbied in Washington D.C. for the FREED (Federal Response to Eliminate Eating Disorders) Act, a comprehensive bill on eating disorders addressing research, treatment, education and prevention. I spoke to congressmen and senators about the necessity of passing this act as it greatly impacts the treatment of those with eating disorders. But I wanted to do more.

June of 2010, I decided to start a NEDA (National Eating Disorder Association) walk, because there were none in Florida. I contacted NEDA and signed up to organize a walk for the Tampa Bay area. I spent the last six months planning the walk, obtaining getting the venue, developing marketing packages, and getting publicity. I worked alongside with High Hopes in High Heels and together we recruited volunteers, secured sponsorships and in-kind donations, publicized the event, recruited walkers, and, most importantly, made sure that my goal, to raise awareness of eating disorders, was achieved.

My main goal in coordinating the first NEDA (National Eating Disorders Association) Walk in the Tampa Bay area was to raise awareness of eating disorders and potentially prevent others from developing an eating disorder like I did. Prior to the event, my goal for the walk was to raise $25,000 for NEDA and have 200 walkers. But Tampa Bay went above and beyond, and the community united together, raising over $33,000 for NEDA with 350 walkers.

About Christa
I grew up in a small town in Ontario and at 18 was drawn to one of Canada’s top fashion cities - Toronto to be at the heart of the industry and never left. I studied Fashion Design & Management and interned with fashion designers, worked in retail management and dabbled in many other facets of the industry always looking for something that felt "right".

What inspired you to start your business?
I always loved my height and never found fashion to be something that was a challenge, to me it was just fun to go shopping and get dressed up. When I realized that many of my petite friends and family were frustrated with finding clothes that fit I start to explore the petite market. I started taking people shopping and realized that I wanted to share my tips with thousands of women and at the same time celebrate our petite stature. As soon as I got wind of what a blog was I was running to the computer and from that day I never stopped. Everything I've done with PF has been self taught and I've loved every minute of building my own mini empire!

What challenges have you faced?
When I took the leap of doing PetiteFashionista.com full time and relying solely on it as my primary income I had to make a few adjustments in my lifestyle and become more disciplined since I was now my own boss. I got the hand of being disciplined as I've always had a great drive and work ethic, but I knew I wasn't about to give up living fabulously...

What did you do to overcome those challenges?
I overcame the challenge of wanting to live like a star on a student budget by a little thing called barter. I didn't want to give up my weekly visit to the salon, so I traded my favorite salon an ad on my sidebar for weekly blowouts and monthly color. Also, I rarely have to buy clothing as samples are sent all the time, of course sometimes there's a little encouragement on my part - wink wink.

What advice do you have for aspiring entrepreneurs?
2 words - just ask!
Just ask for what you want and you'll be surprised by what you can get!

“A picture is worth a thousand words,” at least that’s what I’ve always heard. What couple doesn’t want beautiful, memorable, and breathtaking pictures of their wedding story? When it came time to choose a photographer for my wedding 5 years ago, it seemed choosing one took a thousand questions! As a previous bride, and now running a successful wedding photography business, if I had it do all over again, how would I go about finding a photographer?

Magazines, blogs, even the Yahoo! homepage, these days everyone is an “expert” and has an opinion on how a couple should go about choosing their wedding photographer. During one of my bridal consultations the bride pulled out a list of 25 questions, and before we started she said “I don’t know why I’m asking you these but that’s what the magazine told me to do!”

So, I’ve compiled my list of realistic questions based on personal and professional experience. Now granted, no list like this can be perfect because choosing a wedding photographer is an intensely personal choice. Feel free to add a question I missed or take away one you don’t like.

Questions to ask your photographer:

1. How will the day flow in capturing our wedding story?
This is more important than you think. How do they capture the getting ready, ceremony, details, reception, candids etc.? How do they help you create a schedule so that family members, wedding party, and the team of wedding professionals can work together to make the day run smoothly?

2.Do they offer coverage with multiple photographers?
Is the 2nd photographer actually “shooting” or just an assistant that carries bags and equipment? With two photographers you will get multiple perspectives of the ceremony, and more photos of simultaneous events (like girls and guys getting ready, etc.).

3.Are they a licensed and insured business?
Some venues require the photographer to have a standard $1-2 million dollar business liability policy, yet many wedding photographers do not have this coverage. Every photography business should be operating with the proper insurance to protect themselves, you, and your guests.

4.Do they have backup equipment?
If your photographer shows up with one camera body and something happens (water spills, drops, etc.), then the show is over! So be sure to ask them if they have backup lenses, bodies, batteries etc.

5.How will your images be edited?
Some photographers will only edit the images that you purchase or those that will be going in your album, while others will edit every picture in your set of proofs. Neither way is right or wrong, but you should be comfortable with the final product. If the photographer does not edit them at all, RUN!

6.Ask to see wedding albums or online galleries from a single wedding.
Seeing a portfolio book of all a photographer’s favorite images is much different from seeing an entire wedding from start to finish or flipping through the pages of an album from one wedding. Personally, I prefer to show albums to prospective clients that our couples have purchased for themselves. I believe that shows a true representation of what we provide to our clients. And a note, if there are portfolio books make sure to ask if you can see an online wedding gallery from a recent bride.

Questions to ask yourself:

1. How important is photography to me?
Your wedding is a significant investment no matter who is footing the bill. So many times I’ve heard “photography is most important to me”, and yet it has received a miniscule amount of the budget! If photography is truly the most important part of your wedding, then that should be reflected in your budget. You may have to ask yourself if it’s more important that guests eat steak instead of chicken (Can you even remember the food at most weddings? Neither can I!), or that you work with the photographer of your dreams? There is a reason that a Tiffany diamond is more expensive. The design, the process, the planning, and the materials are all at a different level. It’s the same with photography. Generally, if one photographer is significantly less expensive than another, you are almost guaranteed that the service and quality is going to be lower. That may not be popular, but it’s the truth!

2.What kind of style fits you and your event?
Photojournalism, editorial, traditional, glamour, portraiture; there are a number of ways to describe a photographer’s style, but in the end it comes down to what you like and the type of wedding you want. Choose a photographer based on the photographs they create and the service they offer, not on how they describe themselves on the web.

3.Do our personalities click?
Reviewing someone’s work online and actually interacting with them are two very different things! I always tell my brides that whoever you choose is going to be with you and your guests your entire wedding day. It’s very important that you are comfortable with them and how they will treat your family, friends, and guests. They start with you in your dressing room, and stay with you until the end of the day. Make sure your photographer is someone you like!

4.Do you love their work and trust them?
You are entrusting your photographer to capture one of the most important and happiest days of your lives, and that’s a big responsibility! If you don’t absolutely love the work that you see and totally trust them to do an amazing job, then guess what, they aren’t a good fit!

I hope this helps. Choosing a photographer is important, but it can be done! The best of luck to you in your search for a great match. Hopefully you’ll find someone that will do an amazing job and create memories for you and your family for a lifetime!
